Tough Cody Night

Good news. After today, we don’t play another interleague game until August against Houston. We’ve currently lost 7 in a row to the other league.

Not so good news. Cody had a game he won’t forget but one he won’t ever repeat. His 3 errors paved the way for 4 unearned run in a Cliff loss last night, 4-3. 4 is how many hits the Phillies had. Cliff has a 1.88 ERA in his last 9 starts at home but only a 3-4 record.

Last Phillies third baseman to make 3 errors in a game, David Bell in 2005. Modern MLB record is 5. Prior to 1900, 6 by 5 different players, including Joe Mulvey of the 1884 Phillies. For that season, he had 73 errors. Gloves were much smaller back then.

Number of the day
828: Career RBI Chase picked up last night, putting him in 9th place on the Phillies all-time list, passing his good friend, Pat Burrell.
