NY Weekend

Getting back to the NL East couldn’t come at a better time. The AL East Blue Jays battered the Phillies for the second straight game last night in Toronto.

The Blue Jays have won 8 in row over the Phillies, out-scoring them 53-22 and hitting 16 home runs. In 14 home games, they’ve hit 28 homers. They lead the AL in going deep, 49.

A.J. was tagged for 6 earned runs in 6 innings (including 3 homers). In his 5 previous starts, he had yielded 5 total runs.

Last time the Phillies lost double-digit games, July 27-28 a year ago at Detroit, almost the identical scores of the last 2 days, 10-0, 12-4.

Trip continues in New York this weekend, 3 games against the Mets. Back home Tuesday for another short interleague series, this one against the Angels.
