On To Boston
=A bases-loaded, broken-bat dribbler of about 40 feet from a .091 hitter turned into a disaster for Cole and the Phillies yesterday in the seventh inning. When the inning ended, Cole was in the dugout and behind 5-0 (two unearned runs).
In losing his career-high fifth straight (all this month), Cole once again got no support from the offense. While he’s in the game this year, they’ve scored 21 times. Phillies lone run came in the eight on a balk.
Team flew to Boston after the game and will face the Red Sox, fresh from sweeping three from Cleveland, for four games. First two are in Fenway Park and the last two at Citizens Bank Park.
It won’t a reunion for Victorino as Shane is on the DL. Boston’s best pitcher, Buchholz (7-0), was scratched from starting tonight with a collarbone injury.
Phillies are 5-10 in interleague play this year, 7-13 in Fenway Park and 20-29 against the Red Sox overall. DH will be in effect the first two games.
What do the Rangers, Orioles, Rays, Twins, Blue Jays, Astros, Pirates, Braves, Rockies, Marlins, Giants and Padres have in common?
No complete games.
What do all 15 games yesterday have in common?
