A Rut

Elias Sports Bureau came up with the following note:

“The Phillies have not scored more than three runs in any of their last 10 games. Over the last 40 years the Phillies have had only one other double-digit streak of that type: the Phillies failed to score more than three runs in any of the first 11 games of the 1997 season under rookie manager Terry Francona.”  That’s called an offensive rut.

This afternoon is time to break that streak and losing ways.  Day off tomorrow may be just what the doctor ordered.  Get away from the ballpark, don’t touch a bat.
