Record for Polanco

Anyone out there know the last time the Phillies had a hitter with 6 RBI on opening day?

Question was posted here yesterday following Polanco’s 6-RBI game on Monday.

Faithful reader Jenn, author of the Phillies Phollowers blog, came through with an answer….6 RBI on opening day never happened before in Phillies history.’s Jayson Stark also mentioned it in his game-story.

Now, we have another record to add to the Phillies record book.

Some notes on those players:

Park got crushed in his Yankees game, getting the loss.
Feliz played first base in place of Berkman last night.
Lopez will be the D-Backs fifth starter.
Myers has thrown 6 innings, 12 hits, 4 ER, 1 walk, and 3 SO so far today.
Taschner has played for the best team and one of the worst teams in the NL the past two years.
Marson just looks out of place in Cleveland. Not doing much.
