Pivotal Game

While it is early in the season, today’s game is pivotal.  The formula for a championship team is to win a series.  The Brewers and Phillies are 1-1.

It is also pivotal in that Cole is on the mound again.  Needless to say, he’s the ace and we need to get him in a groove.

It is also pivotal in that today is day 1 of playing three straight games without some sort of interruption.  Hard to get into a rhythm with the schedule and events we’ve had.

Team leaves after the game for Miami and a three-game series against the Marlins who just got swept in three games by the Pirates.  Back home Monday for three with the Nationals.

Numbers
**There were five shutout games in the majors yesterday, unusual. A total of 16 pitchers were used.

**Five more home runs were hit in the new Yankee Stadium.

**Phillies starting pitchers have allowed a home run in each of the 13 games.

**Raul has an 8-game hitting streak.

**Phillies pitchers have allowed the fewest walks in the NL and the most home runs in the majors.

Trivia Answer
How many cheese steaks did Larry Andersen put away during Tuesday night’s rain-delayed game?

“Only two,” laughed LA.
