Driver’s Seat
Yes, we and the Tampa Bay Rays are in the driver’s seat.  History tells us there are teams that have come back from 3-1 deficits, not many, but it can happen.

Tonight’s the biggest game the Phillies have played this year.  Then, the biggest game becomes the next game until all the dates have been crossed off the baseball calendar for 2008.

Chad Billingsley is LA’s strikeout leader.  He’s a power pitcher in the truest sense.  He’s looking for revenge from Game 2 and is a very good young pitcher who is getting better.

Cole has been outstanding in his two postseason starts.

It won’t be easy but that’s been the theme of the entire season for the Phillies.

Inside the Dodgers
Notes on the Dodgers blog…..
**They have won 3 in a row 10 times in 2008.
**17 times, they have won back-to-back games on the road.
**They are 12-7 in their last 19 road games.

“Shane and I have switched roles.  I just try to get on base.  Then Shane does the banging,” kidded Ryan Howard during yesterday’s workout.

“They have so many explosive bats in their lineup that they wear the opposition out, and just when a pitcher thinks he can catch his breath, the Phillies jump on him,” Tracy Ringolsby,

This Date
In Phillies history…
1980 Phillies score four in eighth to win WS Game # 2 over KC, 6-4, at the Vet.

Comment Corner
Thanks for the comments yesterday.  I believe the Phanatic will travel with the team if we continue the postseason road.

Special thank you to the Dodgers fan who send condolences to Charlie and Shane from all the LA fans.  Very classy and we appreciate the thought very much.

Heading East
We have another Delta charter flight that will leave LA after the game tonight.  It’ll be a red-eye flight, due to arrive in Philly when the sun is rising.

I am SO happy for this team!! And so nice for them to finish up early so Charlie can go home and spend time with his family.
Great to see Cole get the MVP; I thought Shane was deserving as well. Then again, this series was really a true team effort. They are all MVP’s!
