Players of the Week (June 19-25)
Pitcher: RH Alexander Concepcion, Batavia Muckdogs: 1-0 for 1 start, 6 scoreless IP in a 7-2 win on Thursday; 2 H, 1 Bb, 7 SO.   The 21-year-old was signed as an amateur fre agent in 2003 out of Santo Domingo, DR.
Player:  OF Matt Padgett, Reading Phillies: hit .458 in 7 games with 11 hits, 6 runs.  He hit safely in all 7 games during the week.  Padgett was signed as a minor league free agent earlier this month.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons
Won 3 of 5 . . . RHP Brian Sanches picked up his eighth and ninth saves.  A rare reversed balk call saved Sanches’ eighth save on Monday.  3B umpire Brad Cole called his second balk of the inning against Sanches, allowing the tying run to score.  Manager John Russell and Sanches argued; four umpires huddled and overruled the balk; the runner returned to third base and was stranted in the 4-3 SWB win . . . RHP Gavin Floyd struggled in his only start of the week, walking 2 and hitting 4 batters in 3.1 innings (8 hits, 9 runs) . . . RHP Adam Bernero (1 R, 6 IP) and LHP Brian Mazone (0 R, 7 IP) picked up wins . . . 2B Joe Thurston is hitting .302 for June; he’s batted safely in 15 of his last 16 games.

Reading Phillies
3-4 week, winning 3 of the last 4 games . . . RHP Nick Evangelista pitched 5.1 scoreless relief innings in 2 appearances; he’s allowed 1 ER in 12.2 IP since June 3 promotion from Clearwater . . . LHPS Daniel Haigwood and Gio Gonzalez each recorded a win.  For Haigwood it was his first win in 67 days.  He gave up just 2 runs in 7 of his 11 starts without a win but the offense couldn’t produce any runs . . . Gonzalez fanned 7 on Sunday to take the Eastern League strikeout lead with 102 . . . CF Michael Bourn leads the EL with 55 runs scored and is third in steals with 27.

Clearwater Threshers
1 win, 4 losses (2 in extra innings), 2 rainouts . . . RHP Julio De la Cruz got the win, 6.1 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO, in 6-5 decision on Tuesday . . . RHP Adam Shafer picked up his ninth save.

Lakewood BlueClaws
All-Star Game provided three days off for the Claws who went 2-1 with a rainout to finish the week . . . RHP Andrew Barb picked up his 10th save on Thursday, tops in the Phillies minor league system . . . LHP Joshua Outman pitched 7 shutout innings on Saturday as the Lakewood staff set a franchise record with its 12th shutout, the most in professional baseball (minors or majors) for this season.  Outman has allowed 2 unearned runs while striking out 26 in winning his last 4 starts . . . OF Mike Spidale has a 12-game hitting streak . . . LHP Matt Maloney leads the league with 93 strikeouts.

Batavia Muckdogs
Opened the New York-Penn League with 4 wins in 6 games . . . RHP Christopher Rauliunaitas recorded 2 saves and a win in 3 appearances . . . 3B Cody Montgomery led the first-week offense (.333).

Gulf Coast Phillies
Opened Gulf Coast League with 2 wins in 5 games . . . RHP Matt Olson won on Friday, 7 IP, 3 H, 3 SO; he threw 52 pitches, 40 for strikes . . . 21-year-old RHP Yen-Feng Lin from Taiwan, made his pro debut on Saturday, 1 scoreless IP . . . 1B Brett Dalton hit .357 for the week; SS Adrian Cardenas, .333.
